Tuscany Tour Itinerary - Day By Day

September 13th – 20th, 2023

8 days/7nights

Day 1, Saturday– Welcome to Tuscany!

Upon arrival to Florence Pertola Airport or train station make your way to the hotel.  If you need a car service we can organize in advance for an additional charge.
Check in at the 4* star hotel at the Arno River. Meet and greet your fellow guests at a local restaurant for aperitivo and dinner.

Day 2, Sunday – Cradle of Renaissance

After breakfast at the Hotel and check out we will meet in the lobby for our private guided tour of the city including Ponte Vecchio, the Cathedral, the Academia Gallery and Piazza La Signoria. You will also get a chance to see authentic aspects of the local life of Florentine artisans working in their “botteghe”. Then taste local food during a light lunch. Later collect your luggage and meet our driver to head to your 5* accommodation in the Tuscan countryside. Upon arrival check in  a Tuscan estate enjoy welcome drinks & snacks and start relaxing. In the evening we join together to taste the cuisine of The Tuscan Estate with a 4 -course dinner and their wines.

Day 3, Monday – Montepulciano and Val d’Orcia at a Glance

After breakfast we begin our excursion to the Montepulciano the quintessential medieval village famous for its Vino Nobile. We will visit and have a wine tasting and lunch at one of the oldest wineries in Tuscany Contucci. On our way back to Borgo Scopeto we will stop in Pienza a picturesque village with the most beautiful views of Val d’Orcia.  Back to Borgo Scopeto for an evening and dinner at leisure on your own.

Day 4, Tuesday – Siena

After breakfast at Borgo we head toward the city of Siena for a guided 2 hour tour.  We will visit the marvelous Siena’s black and white marble Cathedral, which represents the greatness of the city as well as its religious vocation. Stop to admire the town hall and Piazza del campo Campo, a 12th Century shell shape square, where the famous Palio horse race takes place every summer in July and August.  At the end of the tour we will have dinner with wine of course:)

Day 5, Wednesday – Tasty Chianti

After breakfast we will head to a family run estate and winery. Enjoy this unique culinary experience, as Mamma Laura will share the secrets of the Italian culinary tradition. We will join her and prepare the best Italian meal ever! Lunch will be paired with the wines of their estate. Enjoy the evening at your leisure – maybe a massage, or swim at the pool.

Day 6, Thursday – Heart of Bolgheri

After breakfast at Borgo we head toward the Bolgheri wine region. We will visit a very esteemed local winery. We will visit the estate, admire the vineyards, wine tasting and later have lunch at the estate. After lunch we will move to the timeless town of Bolgheri where you can visit the town independently. Admire the red-brick castle at the entrance of the village and stroll around the cobblestone streets. We then return to our hotel where you can enjoy your evening at leisure.

Day 7, Friday – Truffle Hunting

After breakfast relax and enjoy a leisurely morning.  In the afternoon we will head to a full day excursion.  We will stop in the village of Badia a Passignano to enjoy a private truffle hunting experience with the local “tartufaio” and dogs.  Be prepared to do some hiking and if it’s been rainy we can get muddy.  This is a very active experience.  At the end we will enjoy a delicious early truffle dinner. We then return to start packing for our departure the next morning.

Day 8, Saturday – Arrivederci!!!

Enjoy our last breakfast together as we say Ciao to our new friends. Driver will take you to the Florence airport.
